I will have students work daily with Cause and Effect using a novel checked out of the school library; then, change it to a newspaper article.I will model cause and effect using 3 different graphic organizers. Students will read for 10-15 minutes a day and complete a graphic organizer of one cause and many effects one day; one effect with many causes. On Friday, they will check each other's work using a Rubric. They will be learning from one another. The lesson will be modeled weekly, as needed. Lot's of examples will be used that are practical to student's daily life. We will work backwards and forward.
